We went camping for Easter with my sister and family and my dad and stepmom. We had such a good time! It was Kylie's first camping trip. It was wonderful to share those 'firsts' with her.

She had never had a s'more before!

The only unhappy part was before we left, I was babysitting for a friend. Her son is Kylie's "boyfriend". They have such a great time together, but they got a little crazy and broke my lamp. Now the lamp is old, but I had just refurbished it a month ago. It went from an ugly gold to a very pretty black. I had actually taken pictures of it and planned to post about it. Guess it's too late now!

Guess I'll just have to buy a new one! :)

P.S. My pictures are out of order! I just can't get the hang of posting pictures. Does anyone know how to get them under the post instead of over?

So much has happened since the new year, this blog definitely has not been a priority.

First, my precious Maw Maw passed away on January 28th. She was 91 years old. I miss her so much. This picture was taken about 10 years ago.

Kylie and I both have been sick on and off the last couple of weeks. Right now, she has an ear infection and I have a sinus infection. Ugh!

For good news, it is so awesome that the Saints won the Super Bowl!! Who Dat!!! The entire state of Louisiana has been rejoicing ever since last Sunday!

Also, it's Mardi Gras time! Saving that for next post....

I was asked by House Party to throw a Betty Crocker cookie mix party and it was so much fun! Thought I'd share some pictures from the party. I received a party package from them that included some cookie mixes, recipes, BC spoons, notepads, and recipe cards to give out to guests!

Saw this over at Somewhat Simple a few weeks ago and finally tried it out. My mom was in town and helped me. Not finished yet, my husband needs to find me some pliers so I can close it. And as you can see, the kid and the dog are fighting for attention as usual.

We only get snow about once every 5 years, so my daughter, 3, had never seen it. We had such a wonderful time this morning running around the backyard. Well, we had a wonderful 10 minutes. She got really cold really fast and wanted to go back inside.

Kylie's friend J came with us. They had such a good time trick-or-treating!! Kylie was a good witch (she was very serious about the "good" part) and J was a dinasaur.

Later, my MIL came and picked up Kylie and Dave and I went to a costume party. We went as Abby and Gibbs from NCIS.

Crafts

I've been working on a few crafts, which I will post about this weekend! I'm feeling crafty!! ;-)
I just love fall! I made pumpkin bread for the first time this season last Friday night. I was planning on sharing with friends and co-workers, but I tasted it and got selfish. Oops!
I am so excited about Halloween! Dave and I are going to a costume party after we take K trick-or-treating.

Hey, it's been awhile, huh? Life is just so crazy! This weekend, we are looking forward to a playdate. When I had Kylie, I searched for playgroups in the area. I only found SAHM playgroups and playgroups for older kids. Kylie is very tiny and I am a first time mother (overprotective and nervous about everything), so I wasn't about to join.
Instead, I made my own for 2006 babies only! I put it on Cafemom and people joined! It was wonderful at first.... then people stopped coming. But all that is going to change this weekend! Seven people are saying they are coming!! That is more than we've had in a long, long time. I am so excited! We are going to the zoo.
There is a arts and crafts fair that day too. I hope to go for a little while before we go to the zoo. Yeah, let's see how that works out! I can hear it now - "Mama, this isn't the zoo! Nooooooo!". We'll see! ;-)
It's finally fall in Louisiana! I'm baking pumpkin bread this weekend. It's time!

UPDATE: My Maw Maw is doing well. They will hopefully be moving her to the nursing home on Monday. Keep praying!

Okay, I wrote a very long post yesterday, but it has seemed to have disappeared!
Everything is a big crazy right now. My Maw Maw is still in the hospital and it looks as though she will not be returning to the nursing home. My dad has been up here with his brother and sister making arrangements.
Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Soooo, the Sunday Challenge on Somewhat Simple is about cleaning this month! Wow, I really picked a month to join in, huh? This Sunday her challenge for the week is the kitchen! I'll start in a few days.
Today, it's my birthday! And I'm sick. Wonderful. Also, my Maw Maw is in the hospital and I'm really stressed about that. Please pray for her!
I'm thinking I'm going to do my kitchen on Saturday, before we go out to celebrate my birthday!

Busy, Busy, Busy

We had a wonderful weekend! Kylie wasn't feeling well on Saturday, but on Sunday she was fine - till the drive home!
This week has been so busy, I kept Kylie at home on Monday since she made her throat sore screaming the ENTIRE WAY HOME on Sunday. That girl loves her some Me Maw. I was not feeling so great myself.
Then I had a root canal yesterday - good times!
Of course, my supervisors don't care when I miss work, they pile it on even when I'm not here! Monday I was out. Tuesday I was able to do some work after court that morning, Wednesday I was in training all day, yesterday I was out, and today I'm on intake (answering phones) so I have to stay in all day. And I was given 4 new cases this week to go out on! When exactly am I supposed to do that? Hmmm? Anybody?

I'm going home tomorrow for my daddy's sixty-something-th birthday! I really wish I hadn't told Kylie yet. All I heard today was "mama, I'm ready to go. Let's go now!". Ugh!
And, of course, nothing ever goes to plan. Kylie got sick today. We got a call from the daycare about 10, saying she had a fever of 102.5 F. Dave took her to the doctor; she's got a virus.
We're still going to B.R., but we had to change some plans. No seeing my friend with a new baby. The doctor said she's not very contagious if she doesn't have a fever, so it depends on how she feels tomorrow if she gets to play with her cousins.
It will break her heart if she don't go. We just might have to do nothing but hang out at my mother's, though. She certainly doesn't act sick. No coughing, sneezing, etc.
*sigh*
Pray for my baby, please.

New Story:
So, I've been really busy this week (my excuse for maybe totally forgetting I started a blog last week) and I've been getting home late. Dave has been picking Kylie up from daycare. Tuesday night, I got home about 8:30. Was my 3 year old ready for bed? Of course, not!
She was on the floor, in her bathing suit, pretending she was swimming!
But! She was happy, I was tired, and I'm picking my battles... ;-)

P.S. I promise there will be other stuff on this blog besides Kylie stories...

Okay, I could tell y'all this... (don't read if you are not a parent, b/c then it's just gross!)

Last night, Kylie and I were playing with blocks. She stopped and started pushing on her butt. I asked what she was doing.... "I'm trying to push the poo-poo back in!"
I laughed so hard! Okay, that was probably nasty for every one else, but parents that are in the middle of potty training will at least give me half a chuckle!
Of course, I rushed her straight to the bathroom and explained exactly why that would not work.

So, I'm starting my own blog because I can't stop reading other's. I promise to be funny and entertaining.... but not tonight. Tomorrow, I start fresh!
For now, I'll just give you the quick version of who the heck I am. My name is Lisa, I live in central Louisiana. My husband is Dave and we have a three year old daughter, Kylie. That child is crazy, so she will be wonderful blog material.
I work for child protection (so of course, no work stories from me), Dave works for a local uppity furniture store. We have a stupid, but totally loveable mutt named Tridon who outweighs Kylie by about 45 lbs. and knocks her over on a regular basis. She gets mad and threatens to put him in time out.
And that's pretty much it!
